Abstract
Letter from Athens
The letter from Athens addressed to Churches, communities and Christian networks
(19 May 2005), is one of the final documents of the 13th World Conference
on Mission and Evangelisation (CME) held under the auspices of the World
Council of Churches. It underlines the way in which the 600 participants
from 105 countries were able to experience in a very deep sense, a stimulating
diversity and the understanding of how the Holy Spirit works to regenerate,
heal and reconcile. The path of reconciliation and healing, sign of God’s
“new creation” is born out of listening, repentance, forgiveness and commitment
to justice. God calls us to be “communities of reconciliation and healing”.
